MACWORLD: POCKET PROJECTOR GROUP TEST (June 2009)

This review looks at the best pico projectors on the market and votes the Aiptek V10 and V10 Plus as the best pocket projectors on the market today, closely followed by the 3M Mpro 110.

Projectors on review include:-

- 3m Mrpo 110 (4 stars)

- Adapt Pocket Projector (3 stars)

- Aiptek V10 and V10+ (4 stars)

- Optoma PK-101 (3 stars)

Personal Projector sell all the pico projectors reviewed in Macworld except the Optoma PK 101 (not sold due to its limited resolution, no VGA or onbaord memory).

ADAPT:  Two points worth adding to the Macworld review on the Adapt pico projector are:-

1. Connectivity - its connectivity to laptops is very impressive and no matter what laptop you have it seems to connect first time without having to reboot or change any screen/laptop setttings which means you have the confidence that it will work with someone elses laptop eg a potential customers/clients when your doing a presentation.

2. Performance/Price difference - the Adapt does have the longest VGA cable which businesses do find useful as well enhanced cooling. The price difference is also supported in that it includes a much needed Gorilla Pod (tripod) as part of the price which the 3m doesnt. Sold seperately £28.75.

Palm projectors are also reviewed here including the Benq GP1 and Toshiba TDP-F10. Although brighter than pocket projectors its worth noting that these devices are not battery operated and do require a lot of cables whereas the pico projectors you can easily carry around in your pocket a projector, a mini folding tripod and spare battery as back up power.
