Adapt 305 T3 Pico Projector Review: Overall Winner

Adapt 305 with VGA and micro SD card

The new Adapt 305 pocket projector is due for release 30th October.

T3 magazine recently voted this the best pocket projector on the market (overall winner). This new projector is revolutionary in terms of brightness, storage, video formats and connectivity and will be exclusively available at Personal Projector.

Up unitl now if you wanted to purchase a pocket project you had to choose between either a projector with a pass through connnection to a laptop (like a traditional projector such as the 3M) OR choose a stand alone projector which had onboard memory/SD card (such as the Aiptek)…well now you can have both in the Adapt 305.

Not only is the connectivity far superior to anything that is coming onto the market in the near future but this projector is by far the brightest pocket projector available and images can be clearly seen even with the lights on (although as always with projectors its best performance is away from daylight conditions. As its a very portable projector its still best to try and project in darker areas or simply dim the lights/close blinds if you need to)

In terms of size its only a few milimetres thicker than other pico projectors (when used with mains power) and with the battery pack its a further 15mm thicker so its still quite pocketable and still significantly smaller than a palm projector. This is one of the few pocket projectors to have an onboard fan so it remains relatively cool even for extended periods and although its not 100% silent operation its still a very quiet compact projector. Also its good to see that any vibrations from the fan’s projector can be minimised using the mini pocket tripod (supplied) and you can control the Adapt from afar with the remote control. Overall, it really is a superb projector and sets the benchmark for all future projectors.

Due: Wed 30th Oct (pre-order now to ensure earliest delivery)

Price: £303 (£349 inc vat)

You can purchase VGA adaptors for Macs - thats all you need. Its just like connecting a traditional projector to it. Watch out for a video on using the Macs with the Adapt 305 on the Adapt website http://www.adapt-mobile.com/support/faqs.php?sh_id=42

Has anyone got any comments on whether or not this product is as good as it sounds??I teach and I never know if I’ll have access to projectors in the different centres I work from, I also have an iphone so this sounds like the answer to my probs- is it worth the money?

Hi Carrie. I am also a teacher. I work in a primary school and I also deliver INSET to groups of teachers. I use the Adapt 305 and my iphone with both the pupils and staff. It is great for working with groups and I have used it in a variety of settings, including using it to project the song words for our harvest assembly in the hall to 300 children when our main projector broke down. I have used it when I don’t have access to an interactive whiteboard, projecting onto walls, display boards, A1 sheets of paper, table tops and even tiled floors! It really has the wow factor.
The pupils also find it really easy to use and I have found it compliments the delivery of the speaking and listening objectives of the Literacy Strategy.
I hope this helps you to make your mind up to get an Adapt. Our school has invested in a large number of Adapts and every member of staff raves about them. Certainly worth the money.
